Abstract
Traditional GRE fMRI comes with a number of limitations in terms of image distortion and achievable spatial specificity. Recently, several studies have been performed to investigate other fMRI techniques to alleviate these limitations. In our group, we are working on new and reliable SSFP-fMRI methods which can provide several unique advantages compared to GRE fMRI.
Specifically, I’m interested in statistical analysis of fMRI data along with investigating its bio-physical aspects. I’ve worked toward providing accurate computer simulations to better understand the origin of functional contrast in conjunction with estimating the fMRI achievable spatial specificity. I’m also interested in finding efficient ways to utilize the image phase in fMRI analysis.
